On the move....

Christmas in February!!!

Something different this year - since the house was under construction in December, we decided to wait a few weeks (or months) before hanging the stockings and handing out the rest of the presents. So, last week (right before Deric and I headed out of town). we celebrated Christmas.

Funny story - I stopped at the grocery store on my way home from work to pick up some cupcakes and a few extra stocking stuffers. The check out lady mentioned that it looked like I was celebrating a birthday. I said NO - we are celebrating Christmas! When leaving she yelled after me - Merry Christmas! Wow - from the looks I got, you would think no one celebrated Christmas in February.... I guess I am weird!

So here are a few shots of our celebration!

Sunday Fun!

Edinborough Park in Edina is the best place ever!!!! COlin and I were lucky to go there this morning while Daddy and Anna stayed at home. We climbed up the towers and slide down the slides more times than I could count.... What is amazing to me is how they can make places fun for both kids and adults - the climbs are tight (but not too tight) and the slides fast, making us both laugh.

What I love even more.... after playing for over 2 hours in the adventure peak - the nice long nap Colin took!

Just in case you were wondering.... Anna made up her fun playing with her farm toys.

Peek-a-Boo Part 2

I love this age!!!! To make things even more fun, Anna has taken to covering my eyes and revealing them for the exclaimation of PEEK-A-BOO!!!! She finds this hilarious (as do I).

Happy Valentine's Day!

Minesota Weather

We experienced Minnesota winters at its finest this weekend! We decided to head north to the lake, but did not realize that temperatures were expected to be much colder there. So - what did we experience????
Saturday morning 21F
Saturday noon 7F
Saturday bedtime -10F
Sunday morning -22F!!!!!!

And these temperatures did not include the windchill - radio said that Sunday morning it was -41F with the windchill!!!

Here are a things we did for our weekend INSIDE!!!!

Laugh at Everyone around me.

Let Daddy do my hair - Anna's hair always seems to stick up, but with no gel or anything, he was able to make her hair do this!

Sleep very soundly - 2 hour nap day!!!

Create a sensory bowl of rice and lentils - Colin had a blast with this, and surprisingly did not get too much on the floor (but the vacuum was also added entertainment).

Even with the cold, I would say it was a great weekend (until Daddy and I came up with Food poisoning...)

Peek-a-boo!

Anna has mastered the game of peek-a-boo (and rekindled the fun for Colin). She will half cover her eyes and then pull them away waiting for me or Deric to say Peek-a-boo - then she will belly laugh.

I am sooo impressed - Colin refused to play all childish games. no "what does the cow say", no "where is your nose"; he would just look at you like you were crazy. Anna (the darling angel that she is) will gladly play with you and engage in all the games.

Cool Baby Clothes

With a new season just around the corner (I definitely hope so), I am again looking for new fun stuff to dress the kids. I am partial to kids not having too many clothing - just stuff that they wear and wear again. I would rather do an extra load of laundry a week than buy more clothes - call me crazy....

Over lunch today, my firend Kari and I were talking about cool baby shirts we have seen that we want for the babies - she liked the AB/CD shirt and I am partial to the Grandparents rule one ... Both are available at pollytod. This will be one of those well worn shirts!

Plus for all us bloggers - there are giving one away for free. I am always game for a bargain!

99% to crawling

Anna seems to be taking her time learning how to crawl. At 10 months she is still content at staying within her 5 foot radius, but when she wants something (usually something Colin has), she will get there with her modified crawl. In the video you can also hear Colin whistling - his new skill!
